Welcome to the website of Flin Flon Community Choir. We are a group of choristers who perform alternately classical masterworks and musical theater.
Located in the the city of Flin Flon on the Manitoba / Saskatchewan border.is comprised of over 100 members from Flin Flon and the surrounding communities of Creighton, Denare Beach and Cranberry Portage.
The
was started by Crystal and Mark Kolt, with Crystal in the role of conductor and Mark as musical director.
provides classical masterworks and musical theater to the North, including the nationally acclaimed original musicals "BOMBERTOWN", based on the legendary '1957 win by Flin Flon's local hockey team against the Ottawa Canadians and "THREE BRIDES FOR KASOS" a new musical by Elias Kulukundis and Mark Kolt, which made it made its debut in Flin Flon June 2005 before traveling to Winnipeg where it was performed at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival.
has performed several other well known musicals including the recent production of Disney's "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST".
has performed with both the Winnipeg and Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra's, and in March 2006 traveled to Saskatoon to take part in the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra's 75th anniversary concert performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
Twenty five
members traveled to New York's in 2002 with a combined Canadian choir, under the direction of Pierre Perron, to take part in the New York premiere performance of Scott Macmillan's "CELTIC MASS FOR THE SEA" in Carnegie Hall.
December 2007 the
went on a "Northern Reflections Tour" of Handel's "MESSIAH". Visiting the communities of The Pas, Thompson and SnowLake and Flin Flon.

Put on three performances of the award winning Andrew Lloyd Webber - Tim Rice musical "EVITA".
