Solos, stage parts and dancing parts in musical theater productions are optional. Participation in these capacities, particularly solo roles and dancing parts, may also be subject to a selection process based on auditions. Productions offer a variety of roles of varying length and complexity, so roles may be available for interested persons with either limited or more extensive experience, as the case may be.
Choir portions will include instrumental accompaniment, sometimes from several instruments or instrumentalists. While instrumentalists may at any time indicate their interest in participating as an instrumental accompanist or member of the pit band, participation as an instrumentalist is usually reserved for fairly accomplished professional or semiprofessional musicians. Interested parties who feel they have the necessary aptitudes can inquire directly with Crystal or Mark KOLT at 687-5413
The Community Choir is a nonprofit volunteer group. Local choristers, musicians, costume persons, most technical support staff, board members, and all team leaders up to and including the Choir director and accompanist are all unpaid volunteers. However, where necessary, to obtain the extra expertise, the Choir may hire and pay outside consultants, guest artists (usually instrumental), professional sound or light technicians. Even so, 95% or more of the persons involved in the Community Choir productions are volunteers, who by working together and pooling their skills are able to achieve a high standard of quality for audiences in Flin Flon and beyond.
